Job Description for Associate Portfolio Manager

We are seeking a talented Associate Portfolio Manager to join the firm in our Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, or Irvine office.  As an Associate Portfolio Manager, you will work with the executive leadership team, portfolio management team, financial advisors and clients. You should feel comfortable talking directly with clients.

Your Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Rebalancing and Trading,
  • Performance calculation and reporting
  • Analysis of investment strategies
  • Conducting investment research
  • Communication with high-net worth individuals
  • Consulting with financial advisors on how accounts should be set up (e.g. asset placement, which model to use, taxable vs muni bonds, individual bonds vs funds)
  • Discussing how to handle legacy positions and account transitions
  • Providing sample investment allocation and proposal materials
  • Following up with client about execution of trades and any investment/portfolio questions
  • Adjusting cost basis necessary
  • Notifying advisor of cash flow issues, account restrictions, client trades, etc.

Qualifications

  • 1 – 4 years work experience in finance and investments required
  • Bachelors in Finance, Economics or Statistics or related subject required; Master’s preferred
  • Obtained, or progress towards, CFA strongly preferred
  • CAIA or CFP is a plus
  • Ability to do independent research and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to communicate with advisors and clients is critical to the position
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Tamarac is a plus
  • Friendly, strong desire to learn and ability to take direction
  • Ability to work in a team environment
