Job Description for Associate Financial Advisor

Empirical Wealth Management is currently searching for an Associate Financial Advisor (AFA), who can help strengthen client relationships and provide top-notch service to clients. An AFA works closely with a Lead Financial Advisor coordinating the financial, tax, and retirement planning for over 100 households. An AFA will be responsible for client meeting preparation, implementing recommendations, responding to client requests, and other ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Over time, an AFA will learn to conduct financial analysis, prepare financial plans, and make investment recommendations with the guidance of a Lead Advisor. This role is best suited for individuals who aspire to become a Lead Advisor. Over 2-3 years, AFAs will have the opportunity to participate in client meetings, learn about financial planning and tax strategies, and see how relationships are built in order to develop their own client relationships.

Your Responsibilities – What you will be doing in this role

  • Preparing paperwork
  • Executing client requests in a timely manner
  • Preparing meeting agendas
  • Onboarding new clients utilizing various internal and external systems
  • Collaborate across multiple teams (tax, trading, and financial planning) to formulate recommendations for clients
  • Other responsibilities may come up as the role progresses

Your Experience – What you have been doing

  • 1-3 years in financial services industry
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Series 65 and working towards CFP® certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
