Job Description for Associate Financial Advisor
We are seeking a talented Portfolio Manager to join the firm’s Seattle, WA office. As a Portfolio Manager, you will work with the executive leadership team, trading team, financial advisors and clients. You should feel comfortable talking directly with clients.
Your Responsibilities – What you will be doing in this role
- Portfolio Rebalance and Trading,
- Performance calculation and reporting
- Analysis of investment strategies
- Gathering and summarizing relevant financial research
- Communication with high-net worth individuals
- Consult with advisor on how accounts should be set up (e.g. asset placement, which model to use, taxable vs muni bonds, individual bonds vs funds)
- Discuss how to handle legacy positions and account transitions
- Provide sample investment allocation and proposal materials, including “Investment Considerations”
- Follow up with client about execution of trades and any investment/portfolio questions
- Adjust cost basis accounting method if necessary
- Notify advisor of cash flow issues, account restrictions, client trades, etc.
Your Qualities
- Ability to do independent research and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to communicate with advisors and clients is critical to the position
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Friendly, strong desire to learn and ability to take direction
- Ability to work in a team environment
Your Experience – What you have been doing
- 2 – 5 years work experience in finance and investments required
- Bachelors in Finance, Economics or Statistics required; Master’s preferred
- Obtained, or is making progress towards, CFA required
- CAIA or CFP is a plus
